  1. My Polaris 330 2X4 won’t stay running. I installed a new fuel pump and cleaned the carburetor. The carb is getting fuel, what else can prevent the motor from starting?

    • If the starter motor turns over slowly, check for:

      1. Discharged battery, low specific gravity.
      2. Excessive circuit resistance or poor connections. Refer to the download repair manual “voltage drop test.”
      3. Check for for seized or binding engine. Can the Trail Boss engine be rotated easily with recoil starter?
      4. Check the starter for worn or faulty brushes in starter motor.
      5. Is the automatic compression release inoperative?

      This should fix your problem.
